Al Shindagha Museum, developed by Dubai Municipality in collaboration with Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, includes clustered historic houses that showcase Dubai’s history and culture using the most innovative technologies. The museum is divided into several themed pavilions made up of clustered historic houses. Each pavilion focuses on a different topic relating to Dubai’s history and culture, within several overarching themes. A visit to the Al Fahidi neighborhood is a worthwhile way to understand the traditional life of Emiratis and to know more about the past of Dubai. But all it takes is a little exploration by the creek side and a few steps beyond Downtown, and there’s a whole different world that exists. Each home in Al Fahidi has its history and story to tell. Hidden within the restored maze, which is easily explored on an aimless wander, is a short section of the old city wall from 1800.
